Activities: Dolphin Watching

The reef is known in Fijian as "Makalati". It is a scared place, our ancestors treated it with the utmost respect. We here at Takalana Bay do the same. We discourage any littering in the reef, we also do not allow swimming with the dolphins as this can change their behaviour patterns, we also discourage removing any coral or old clay pots you may see within the reef.

The dolphins come into the reef early in the morning . They feed and rest during the day and leave the reef in the evenings to feed. The entrance into the reef is quite small therefore no large predators like sharks can enter the reef. This is the reason the dolphin nest here during the day, its safe haven for mothers and their calf.

We are Fiji's only guaranteed dolphin tour.
